OUTREACH AT GRACE CHURCH

What is outreach? Outreach is what we do for others beyond our own congregation. Jesus called on us to love our neighbour as ourselves, and this requires action on our part. Here at Grace Church we have chosen three initiatives to support.Photo of Grace Anglican Church

Local Food Banks: We support both the Caring Cupboard in Rodney and the Daffodil Society in Dutton. We generally alternate by the month, except at Christmas when we support both.

Portrait of AmedOur sponsored Child: Check out our "outreach" notice board in the hall, and get to know Amed who is now 8 years old and who lives in Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso. We pay for this initiative from our coffee fund.

The Leprosy Mission: This organization does wonderful work fighting the oldest disease in recorded history, and the stigma which is still attached to it. It is completely curable, but too often those infected are driven out of society and do not receive help until the disease has disfigured and crippled them. We send enough money each year to cure two people.

The Primates World Relief and Development Fund: As individuals many of us support this Anglican initiative that is working around the globe helping to alleviate suffering.

And we are still looking for more ways to help our neighbours, both locally and abroad. Join us and help with these worthwhile projects.
